WOLVERHAMPTON slipped to a 57-36 defeat at fellow title hopefuls Peterborough on Friday.
The Monmore men were without both doubling-up reserves Joe Haines and Chris Kerr but the Panthers were worthy winners with a solid all-round display at the East of England Showground.
The scoreline could have been much worse for the Parrys International Wolves but for a brilliant 8-1 in Heat 11 when Freddie Lindgren "“ on a tactical ride for double points "“ partnered Ty Proctor.
Kenneth Bjerre, who leads the World Championship after two Grand Prix rounds, continued his fairytale season with 16+2 points for the Panthers.
The sides meet again at Wolverhampton's Monmore Green Stadium on Monday next, May17, when new signing Matthew Wethers makes his debut.
Top scorer Lindgren said: "Peterborough is always a tough place to visit and it's a disappointing result, so we just have to put it right at home on Monday."
