CHAMPIONS Wolverhampton remain bang on course to defend their title after a hard fought 46-44 win at Ipswich on Thursday.

The meeting provided plenty of excitement for the crowd on a revamped Foxhall Stadium track and Parrys International Wolves had to hit back from an early deficit to cement second spot in the Elite League table with three valuable points.

Ludvig Lindgren and Ty Proctor got the Monmore men back level with a 4-2 in Heat 8 after they’d been four-points down.

And they were able to take a grip on the meeting with big-guns Freddie Lindgren and Tai Woffinden scoring well to open up a handy lead.

Freddie’s Heat 13 win was to prove decisive and the Monmore men went on to secure a precious away win which keeps them well in control of a play-off spot.

But still Ipswich had a chance to grab a draw in the last race with a 5-1. Thankfully Freddie Lindgren as able to see off British star Scott Nicholls for a vital and matchwinning second spot.
