WOLVES 57 BIRMINGHAM 36
Monday March 21, 2011
WOLVERHAMPTON skipper Peter Karlsson paid tribute to the fans after their 57-36 WM Trophy win over Birmingham at Monmore.
The Parrys International Wolves gave a solid all-round display in front of a bumper crowd at Monmore to secure a 108-80 aggregate win.
Karlsson was good value for a stunning 15-point maximum on his return to the club after a year out on loan to Belle Vue.
He said: “The welcome back from the fans has been amazing and I will be thinking about that for a long time.
“We still have a lot of things to work on as a team but this is a good start for us and we have to be pleased with the result.
“Everyone has to deal with the new silencers and luckily I have found a set-up which is good for me, but there is still a lot to do in the workshop!”
Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren was also good value for his unbeaten 10+2 score from four outings.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson 15, Tai Woffinden 12+2, Freddie Lindgren 10+2, Ludvig Lingren 8+1, Ty Proctor 6+2, Ricky Wells 4, Tyson Burmeister 2+2.
BIRMINGHAM: Ales Dryml 10+2, Danny King 7, Kevin Wolbert 7, Krzysztof Kasprzak 5, Rene Bach 3+1, Daniel Nermark 2, Theo Pijper 2.
