BELLE VUE 43 WOLVES 47

Friday March 29, 2013
WOLVERHAMPTON put three valuable Elite League points on the board with a hard fought 47-43 win at Belle Vue on Good Friday.

British Grand Prix star Tai Woffinden was in stunning form to lead the charge with 13+1 to continue his impressive start to the season.

Woffinden won the all-important last heat decider with fellow GP star Freddie Lindgren claiming a vital third place.

And Lindgren was understandably jubilant after the meeting.

He said: "We're really happy with that result to start the season.

"It's been a long time since we won away so it's an encouraging result and one which we are delighted with - especially in the first meeting of 2013."

In what was a tight meeting throughout, Wolves gained the upper hand when Ludvig Lindgren and Adam Skornicki combined for a 4-2 in heat 14 to give them a slender advantage and set up the victory charge from their big guns.

Lindgren and Woffinden both starred throughout, whilst Ricky Wells and Ty Proctor made useful contributions in the main body.

Down at reserve Ludvig Lindgren battled his way to a vital 8+1 just two days after re-joining the club on a temporary basis in place of Sam Masters.

The sides meet again in Wolverhampton's opening home meeting of the season next Tuesday, April 2.
