WOLVES 45 POOLE 44

Monday April 08, 2013
WOLVERHAMPTON edged out title favourites Poole 45-44 in a Monmore thriller on Monday.

The result means Parrys International Wolves have collected points in all four of their Elite League outings so far.

Freddie Lindgren was the top scorer with 13 but he was also the last heat match winner by claiming the two points Wolves needed for the win on the night.

And younger brother Ludvig, who has agreed to extend his stay with the club until the end of April as cover for the unavailable Sam Masters, picked himself up from two bad crashes to emerge as a hero by joining Ricky Wells for a shock 5-1 in Heat 12 over World Champion Chris Holder.

That gave Wolves the lead for the first time in the match and they went into a tense Heat 15 with Freddie Lindgren and Tai Woffinden.

Lindgren finished second behind Pirates guest Niels-Kristian Iversen with Holder third to ensure Wolves held on for a point in a sensational finish.

Manager Peter Adams said: "It's very pleasing to get the win, the boys had to work hard for that.

"It means we add to our points tally and that's all we can ask. We could so easily have lost the meeting when you look at the early stages and how we were struggling."

The sides will meet again at Wimborne Road in Poole this Wednesday.

WOLVERHAMPTON 45: Freddie Lindgren 13, Tai Woffinden 9+1, Ludvig Lindgren 7+1, Adam Skornicki 6+2, Ricky Wells 5, Ty Proctor 4, Jacob Thorssell 1.

POOLE 44: Niels-Kristian Iversen 14.Rohan Tungate 9+2, Chris Holder 8+1, Kyle Howarth 8, Dawid Stachyra 4+2, Maciej Janowski 1+1, Robert Mioskowiak R/R.
