COVENTRY 31 WOLVES 59

Monday April 29, 2013
WOLVERHAMPTON'S fairytale Elite League Speedway season took another stunning twist with a 59-31 demolition of neighbours Coventry at Brandon on Monday.

The margin of victory handed Parrys International Wolves all four league points on offer as the winning away side and they are now four clear at the top of the table.

Grand Prix stars Fredrik Lindgren and Tai Woffinden both bagged maximums to lead the visitors - and skipper Lindgren was ecstatic with the team display.

He said: "It's an unbelievable result. We came here thinking it was going to be really tough with the changes Coventry have made.

"But the boys did fantastic, and the result was never in doubt really from the moment Wuffy and Ty got a 5-1 in heat one.

"In the end it was a really big win for us and we a really happy with the result."

Ludvig Lindgren and Ty Proctor both supported the pair superbly - each being defeated only once by an opposing rider in four outings - whilst Ricky Wells bagged two race wins on his way to nine points against his former club.

Four 5-1s between heats five and eight had put Wolves firmly in control before three further maximums in the final four races sealed a comprehensive victory.

The result sees Wolves extend their lead at the top of the Elite League table to four points as they prepare to welcome a strong King's Lynn side to Monmore Green next Monday.
