PARRYS International Wolves suffered a disappointing 54-38 defeat at the hands of Elite League Champions Swindon at the Abbey Stadium.
After conceding 5-1s in each of the opening three races Wolverhampton were always playing catch-up before eventually falling well short of a league point.
And boss Peter Adams was frustrated with the performance.
He said: “It was a typical case of a small-track club coming to a big track and struggling to get the set-ups right to start with.
“Before we knew it we were twelve points down, and you can't afford to start slowly at places like Swindon.
“It was a disappointing result, but we'll be hoping it's a very different story when they come to Monmore a week on Monday.”
Skipper Tai Woffinden top-scored for the visitors after a strong display, whilst Adam Skornicki continued his impressive form with a solid performance.
Jacob Thorssell and Ludvig Lindgren both put in promising displays at reserve - yet Ricky Wells and guest Scott Nicholls both endured frustrating evenings as Wolves felt the absence of No.1 Fredrik Lindgren.
