PARRYS International Wolves made it three wins out of three in 2014 with a hard-fought 47-42 victory over highly-rated King's Lynn at Monmore Green.

A battling display ensured the hosts fended off a determined Stars side in a thrilling clash - yet they were forced to settle for only two Elite League points.

A last-gasp 5-1 for visiting duo Kenneth Bjerre and Niels-Kristian Iversen saw King's Lynn snatch a consolation point - but boss Peter Adams was simply relieved to come away with an important victory.

Said Adams: "Everybody will talk about the disappointing finish to the meeting, but I'd have taken a one point victory before we kicked-off against that King's Lynn side.

"All in all given the problems we had in one or two positions tonight I thought it was a terrific victory whatever the margin, and we're just pleased to keep our winning run going."

World Champion Tai Woffinden suffered a rare off night from the No.1 position - yet flying Pole Piotr Pawlicki stepped up with another magnificent display to lead the Wolves side.

Middle order man Ricky Wells also provided vital firepower as he suffered just one defeat from his four rides - shepherding home the impressive Ashley Morris for a huge 5-1 in heat 14.

With partner Joe Jacobs enduring a tough evening, local youngster Morris enjoyed a fantastic night at reserve.

Swedish star Jacob Thorssell and Ty Proctor also put in solid showings in the main body - with Proctor in particular recovering from a slow start to notch two race wins.

That completed a strong all-around team display and ensure Wolves increased their Elite League points tally to eight from just three meetings.
