WOLVERHAMPTON gave a terrific late, late show to stun Swindon with a 52-38 win in another Monmore thriller on Monday.

And skipper Tai Woffinden - who continued his return to form by dropping just a point to an opposing rider - immediately paid tribute to the track staff for ensuring the meeting went ahead.

"The track staff deserve great credit," he said. "We all need to thank them because it was raining here for the majority of the day but we got the meeting on.

"It wasn't ideal early on but it was the same for both sides and I'm really pleased with the way the boys handled it.

"It's good to see all the boys scoring points, it was a solid all-round performance and I was pleased with my own display, that's much more like it from me!"

Parrys International Wolves pulled off three 5-1 wins in the last three heats to complete an impressive win against a confident Robins side.

Swindon's Peter Kildemand won a hugely entertaining Heat 6 which saw Troy Batchelor pinch third from Ty Proctor on the line.

And when Simon Gustafsson won Heat 7 ahead of an enthusiastic Jacob Thorssell, hopes were high for the visitors.

But Proctor came good when it mattered most and Ashley Morris pulled off a stunning 5-1 with the Aussie in the penultimate race.

Woffinden and Piotr Pawlicki teamed up to secure maximum points in the last heat of an entertaining night.

Wolverhampton 52: Tai Woffinden 13+1, Piotr Pawlicki 10+2, Ashley Morris 8+2, Ty Proctor 8, Jacob Thorssell 6, Ricky Wells 5, Joe Jacobs 2+1
