PARRYS International Wolves staged a simply stunning fightback to snatch a dramatic 47-46 victory over Swindon in a thriller at the Abbey.

Having fallen 14 points adrift after nine races, Wolverhampton's chances of salvaging any points looked slim.

Yet a huge 8-1 led by a Piotr Pawlicki tactical ride proved the catalyst for a staggering late surge.

It was the sensational Pawlicki who then completed a remarkable win, leading home a decisive heat advantage with skipper Tai Woffinden in a tense last heat decider.

Team boss Peter Adams was left delighted by the character shown by his side to add a huge three points to their Elite League tally.

Said Adams: "It was a very good performance, and to come back from 14 points down was fantastic.

"It was disappointing to be that far behind in the first place, but the boys dug deep and got what they deserved in the end.

"That 8-1 turned the momentum in our favour really, and from then on the boys were brilliant."

In-form Polish racer Pawlicki once again led the Wolves side from the No.5 position, recording three race wins in his final three outings as he put in another splendid display.

Yet World Champion Tai Woffinden fought hard to offer solid support, whilst Ty Proctor recovered from a difficult start to add a vital 6+1 points.

Californian ace Ricky Wells battled hard, scoring in very ride from the tough No.3 spot and partnering Pawlicki fantastically for the pivotal 8-1.

Jacob Thorssell also ended his night with a composed win to complete a solid display from the top five, whilst youngster Joe Jacobs stepped up with a determined showing to bolster the lower order.

Guesting Lewis Rose also added a vital point as Wolves snatched a memorable win on their travels, their second of the campaign.
