BELLE VUE 55 WOLVES 38

PARRYS International Wolves could not add to their Elite League points tally as they suffered a 55-38 defeat against Belle Vue at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

The Monmore men put in a determined effort, yet it was not enough to earn them a consolation point against a strong Aces side unbeaten on home soil.

It was a disappointing result for Wolverhampton as they looked to make up for dropping a point when they hosted Belle Vue on Monday.

And team boss Peter Adams admitted he was frustrated by the defeat, in particular the lack of support for their top two.

He said: "We were well beaten in the end, and it was a disappointing night for us.

"Belle Vue started well but we came back and at the halfway stage we were only one point adrift.

"That should have given us a decent chance to go on and get at least a point, but as has been the pattern with us we didn't have much beyond Chris Harris and Piotr Pawlicki.

"Nobody seems to be able to step up at the moment from elsewhere and provide the sort of big score that we need.

"Combine that with the fact Belle Vue are very strong at home and I suppose the result was inevitable really."

Chris Harris top scored for the visitors as he guested for Tai Woffinden, providing a tactical ride win which saw Wolves fightback to within one point after seven races.

Flying Pole Piotr Pawlicki also fought hard, ending his night with a classy win after putting in a solid performance at No.5.

However, fellow heat-leader Jacob Thorssell struggled as he continues to adjust to life on the difficult No.3 spot, whilst Ricky Wells proved inconsistent despite two excellent race wins.

With Ty Proctor, Joe Jacobs and Tom Perry also proving solid yet unspectacular, Wolves were unable to challenge for a point as they faded in the second half of the meeting.

BELLE VUE 55: Craig Cook 12, Matej Zagar 10+2, Scott Nicholls 9+2, Lee Payne 7+1, Stefan Nielsen 6+1, Richie Worrall 6, Michael Palm Toft 5.

WOLVERHAMPTON 38: Chris Harris 11, Piotr Pawlicki 8, Ricky Wells 6, Joe Jacobs 4+1, Ty Proctor 4, Tom Perry 3, Jacob Thorssell 2.
