PARRYS International Wolves put their recent troubles behind them to storm to a comprehensive 56-37 victory over Leicester at Monmore Green.

Peter Adams' side ended a run of four consecutive defeats with a resounding win thanks to a superb all-around team performance.

Despite the absence of Piotr Pawlicki, all six riders played their part in what was a confidence-boosting win - and team boss Adams was delighted with a good night at the office.

He said: "I was expecting more from Leicester to be honest, but they did have some bad luck when they lost Mads Korneliussen early on.

"From our points of view everyone did their bit, and it was a good win. It was nice to see some of the younger guys having a bit of prominence for a chance.

"It gives us a lot of encouragement as we look to end the season strongly, so it was a good night for us."

Swedish star Jacob Thorssell top scored for the hosts with an outstanding display - racing to three classy race wins and earning a well-deserved heat 15 appearance.

Fellow second string Lasse Bjerre also impressed, notching double figures with an encouraging display as he continues to get to grips with the Monmore Green circuit.

Skipper Tai Woffinden appeared somewhat back to his best as he reeled off three dominant wins in his final three outings to see Wolves home, whilst Peter Karlsson chipped in with seven useful points.

With the top four all in impressive form, Tom Perry and Joe Jacobs also battled hard to comfortably outscore their Leicester counterparts and ensure Wolves left with all three Elite League points.

WOLVERHAMPTON 56: Jacob Thorssell 14, Tai Woffinden 12+1, Lasse Bjerre 10+2, Tom Perry 8, Peter Karlsson 7, Joe Jacobs 5+3, Piotr Pawlicki R/R.
