PARRYS International Wolves are sweating on the fitness of skipper Tai Woffinden after he crashed heavily in their 55-35 defeat against Eastbourne at Arlington.
Having won his first ride, the World Champion crashed into the fence at high speed in heat six suffering a wrist/arm injury.
Despite losing their key man early on, the depleted Wolves put up a brave fight only to run out of steam and fall short of a consolation point.
It was a tough night for Peter Adams' side as they were left awaiting news on Woffinden's injury after he was taken to hospital for scans.
Scott Nicholls, Rohan Tungate and Gino Manzares all fought admirably as they guested for the visitors with Piotr Pawlicki, Jacob Thorssell and Lasse Bjerre riding in the World Under 21 Team Cup Final.
Peter Karlsson plus reserves Tom Perry and Joe Jacobs also put in creditable showings but they were eventually comfortably beaten by a strong Eastbourne side who remain formidable on home soil.
