PARRYS International Wolves raced to a comprehensive 56-37 victory over Eastbourne at Monmore Green in their final home meeting of the Elite League season.

Despite their injury problems, the patched-up Wolves put in a resolute display to come away with a resounding win in an entertaining clash.

It was an excellent all-around team showing which saw three riders end with double figures - and team boss Peter Adams was pleased to end a disappointing season on a high.

Said Adams: "It was a very good win in our last home meeting of the season, and it was a good all-around performance.

"We expected a lot more from Eastbourne to be honest given we were without our top three and they are supposedly busting a gut to get into the play-offs.

"But it was a great performance from us to get the job done and come away with a good result."

Aussie ace Rory Schlein notched a four-ride paid maximum as he again guested for injured skipper Tai Woffinden at No.1, putting in another excellent showing.

Returning American Ricky Wells narrowly missed out on a maximum of his own as he also made a guest appearance, top scoring with 13+1 having been unbeaten until heat 15.

Veteran Swede Peter Karlsson also starred, being involved in three 5-1s including a spectacular last to second ride in heat six to nullify a Bjarne Pedersen tactical ride.

With Lasse Bjerre and Danny King also impressing in the top five with all-action displays plus Joe Jacobs and Tom Perry battling hard at reserve, Wolves claimed a resounding win against the play-off chasing Eagles.

WOLVERHAMPTON 56: Ricky Wells 13+1, Rory Schlein 11+1, Peter Karlsson 10+2, Joe Jacobs 7, Lasse Bjerre 6+1, Danny King 6, Tom Perry 3+2.

EASTBOURNE 37: Kyle Newman 11+2, Joonas Kylmakorpi 10, Bjarne Pedersen 10, Timo Lahti 3+1, Lewis Bridger 3, Mikkel Michelsen 0, Danny Halsey 0.
