WOLVERHAMPTON claimed a 53-39 win over Coventry in their Keep The Bees On Track challenge match at Monmore Green.

The Parrys International Wolves gave their confidence a timely boost with a convincing performance against the Bees.

Their top five were all in impressive form to power them to victory on a night which featured some close racing and a big travelling Coventry contingent.

Swedish duo Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell top scored, suffering just one defeat apiece and joining forces for a 5-1 in the final race.

Sam Masters bagged paid double figures and was involved in the race of the night to snatch second place from Danny King in heat 13, whilst Adam Skornicki took the chequered flag twice.

Former Coventry man Kyle Howarth also continued his fine start to the season with paid 11, and he was delighted with the manner of their victory.

Said Howarth: “It was a good night. We always knew it was going to be tough but we got the job done and the boys performed well.

“It was a good effort from the team, and it’s always nice to be back racing at Monmore winning some races.

“It was good to see the turnout from Coventry fans. Having raced there in the past I want to see the club back and I hope they sort things out there in the near future.”

Reserve duo Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves again struggled, but Wolves still had enough to come out on top.

They will be back in SGB Premiership action with a tough test against Belle Vue at the National Speedway Stadium on Friday (1pm) before hosting the Aces at Monmore Green next Tuesday (7.30).
