WOLVES 48 BELLE VUE 42

Tuesday April 18, 2017
WOLVERHAMPTON hero Freddie Lindgren heaped praise on his side after their 48-42 victory over Belle Vue at Monmore Green.

Lindgren roared to an impeccable 15-point maximum to lead the Parrys International Wolves to arguably their most impressive win of the season so far.

It was an excellent night for Peter Adams' side as they bounced back from a disappointing defeat at the hands of the in-form Aces on Good Friday.

And Lindgren was delighted to lead them to a much-needed three points to give their confidence a timely boost.

"We need to keep winning at home, so it's a very important result," Lindgren said. "We've had some troubles in the team with getting everyone scoring, but I'm really pleased we got the win tonight.

"Obviously I think my performance was top notch, and I don't think I've been better than that here in a long while.

"It was good to see Nathan (Greaves) really improving tonight as well. He was starting a lot better, riding a lot smoother and he was in the points so I'm happy for him.

"Belle Vue have started the season very well, and if you look at the side from 1-7 they're pretty strong all over so we're pleased to get the win."

Lindgren went through the card from his five rides, including a tapes-to-flag win in a tense last-heat decider.

He was joined at the front in heat 15 by the sensational Jacob Thorssell, who prevailed in a tight battle with Max Fricke to ensure he ended the night having dropped just one point.

Kyle Howarth was involved in two vital 5-1s with Lindgren as he enjoyed another excellent evening, whilst Aussie ace Sam Masters battled to a solid seven points.

Reserve duo Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves made vital contributions and demonstrated significant improvement, and although Adam Skornicki endured a night to forget the Monmore men came out on top.

They will be back in action looking to maintain their unbeaten home record against SGB Premiership newcomers Rye House next Monday (7.30).
