WOLVERHAMPTON bosses have paid tribute to their loyal fans after their agonising league and cup double disappointment.

Injuries to Swedish stars Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell proved costly ahead of the Grand Final which saw Swindon snatch the title in a last gasp drama.

And others followed – Rory Schlein and Kyle Howarth missed the Knockout Cup Final with Belle Vue which also resulted in defeat.

Parrys International Wolves co-promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “It was such a hard end to the season for us and who knows what might have been with a full team?

“But it’s important for us to say a big thank you to our supporters who stood by us in difficult times, it’s very much appreciated. Plus thank you to all our sponsors and track staff.

“We are awaiting developments regarding next season at the sport’s AGM which Peter Adams will be attending and then we can look at what the possibilities are for the team in 2018.”
