PETER Adams will head to Tenerife this weekend to represent Wolverhampton at British Speedway’s vital AGM.

For the first time in years club owner Chris Van Straaten will miss the top level talks due to ongoing treatment for illness.

And it’s vital because several issues are still in the air – including set race nights and a TV deal.

Said Van Straaten: “It’s disappointing for me not to be attending but in Pete Adams we are in safe hands.

“There’s a lot to discuss, there have been well documented issues which need resolving and once the weekend is concluded we can get on with our business of team building.”

Meanwhile there are two key dates for fans at the Cleveland Arms pub on Stow Heath Lane at the end of this month.

Parrys International Wolves host their management talk-in at the venue on Monday November 27 with all the big issues from the AGM under the microscope. Admission is £2 and the event starts at 8pm.

And just a few days later on Thursday November 30, BT Sport duo Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson host their Christmas Cracker show with presenter Natalie Quirk and special guests Pete Adams with his hilarious stories from a glittering career and Birmingham’s Danyon Hume.

Tickets for the ‘Tatum and Pearson Christmas Cracker’ are available now from the venue on 01902 451021 priced £10.
