BOSS Peter Adams has sat down with club owner Chris Van Straaten to thrash out team plans for Wolverhampton’s 2018 campaign.

Adams returned from the British Speedway AGM in Tenerife and immediately arranged a meeting with Van Straaten now rules are in place for team building.

One negative is that Parrys International Wolves won’t be able to use both Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell as each team is only allowed one rider with an average of eight or more.

Said Adams: “That’s a disappointment for us and we certainly didn’t vote for that rule but we are part of a democratic organisation and respect the decision.

“Chris and myself have to make some decisions and look at all our options and we’ll be pressing ahead with rider talks from now on.”

Adams will be updating fans this Monday, November 27, when the club host their winter talk-in at the Cleveland Arms pub, Stow Heath Lane, from 8pm. Admission is £2.

“It’s an opportunity to update the supporters and to answer any questions they may have,” he said.

“These evening always prove popular so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.”

Adams will also be at the same venue the following Thursday as a guest of BT Sport duo Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson for their ‘Christmas Cracker’ show. Presenter Natalie Quirk and Birmingham’s Danyon Hume are also on the bill.

“I’m going to have some fun with that lot,” said Adams. “It should be a good night for all speedway fans.”

Admission is £10 and tickets are available from the Cleveland Arms direct 01902 451021 or on Monday night.
