NEW Wolverhampton No.1 Jacob Thorssell insists he’s up for the challenge of leading from the front.

Swedish ace Thorssell has completed his rise up the team ladder and is ready to return from serious back injuries sustained last season.

Thorssell has been a firm favourite with fans since he first arrived at Monmore and is set for the biggest challenge of his career.

He said: “Riding at No.1 will be a challenge but I'm really looking forward to it.

"It's a sign of my progress - something I've done every year since I first signed for Wolverhampton.

"I've gone from reserve to second string, second string to heat leader and now I'm starting the season as the top averaged rider in the team.

"I know it's going to be a little bit tougher but I'm going to treat it like there's no difference.

"It's just a number on my back but I know I need to step things up another level and I'm keen to get started."

Meanwhile legendary Wolverhampton brothers Peter Karlsson and Mikael Max are flying over from Sweden for a special night with fans next month.
