WOLVERHAMPTON’S rusty speedway riders are desperately searching for places to practice.

Many tracks throughout the UK are still recovering from last week’s snow and storm and riders are keen to get back riding with the new season now just days away.

Parrys International Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “It’s a frustrating time for the lads because it’s always a long winter.

“We’ve got our own press and practice on March 19 but ideally the boys will have some more laps somewhere before then.

“Hopefully the weather will improve and tracks become more available to give the lads time.”

Wolverhampton’s press and practice will be open to the public from 6.30.

The following night, March 20, the team and management will be together at the Cleveland Arms on Stow Heath Lane (close to Monmore Green) for the pre-season talk-in from 7.30.

And opening night sees the visit of Poole in Premiership action on Monday March 26 (7.30).
