WOLVERHAMPTON star Kyle Howarth says their last-gasp title disappointment will spur them on heading into the new SGB Premiership season.

Howarth, 24, is one of five riders retained from the side who suffered Grand Final heartache at the hands of Swindon in 2017.

After winning the top flight in his first year with the club in 2016, Howarth is eyeing another successful season.

He reckons their talented young side can go all the way as they prepare to get their campaign underway with an Easter Monday double header against Belle Vue in the Knockout Cup.

“I think it’s good that I’ve got a stable setup,” Howarth said. “I’ve been at Wolves for two years, so it’s nice to be back.

“I know what they’re about, I know the people and we’ve had two solid years together so we’re hoping to continue that.

“I’m happy to be back at Wolves. It’s a new season with a younger team but a lot of the same faces. It’s looking good, we’re looking strong and we want to have another good year.

“It was a bit sore for us last year, the way we lost the final, but that’s speedway, that’s part and parcel of it and now we want to get that title back.

“We move on to a new season, but we won’t forget how the end of last season felt when we’re trying to finish top and ultimately win the league.”
