EASTER MONDAY PREVIEW

Sunday April 01, 2018
WOLVERHAMPTON will get their 2018 campaign underway with a Knockout Cup double header with Belle Vue on Easter Monday.

Parrys International Wolves will travel to the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester (12pm) before heading back to Monmore Green for the return fixture at 8pm.

It will be a tough test for Peter Adams' side as they face a repeat of their 2016 play-off final and 2017 semi-final against the Aces.

But an optimistic Adams reckons they can get off to a strong start on what is set to be a hectic day of racing.

Said Adams: "Belle Vue have got a very good team, and they've had a couple of competitive fixtures already.

"They should be two good matches, and hopefully the weather is kind to us and we can get two good crowds in.

"At the start of every new season everyone is buoyant, and this should be another good, competitive Wolverhampton team I think."

Wolverhampton hand a debut to new signing Cameron Heeps, whilst Ashley Morris makes his return at reserve.

Belle Vue have brought in Paul Starke on a temporary deal to cover for injured Polish youngster Damian Drozdz.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Jacob Thorssell, Kyle Howarth, Cameron Heeps, Rory Schlein, Sam Masters, Nathan Greaves, Ashley Morris.

BELLE VUE: Craig Cook, Steve Worrall, Paul Starke, Rohan Tungate, Max Fricke, Jye Etheridge, Dan Bewley.
