WOLVERHAMPTON launch their Premiership campaign with a repeat of last year’s Grand Final on Monday – and Aussie ace Sam Masters is hungry for success.

Swindon are the visitors to Monmore which automatically sparks memories of league heartache for Parrys International Wolves after their agonising defeat at the hands of the Robins last October.

Masters, who is back in business after recovering from a leg injury sustained in the Australian Championships, says they were robbed of glory through injuries to key men Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell.

He said: “We nearly did two years in a row, but everyone knows why we didn’t win last year,” he added. “We didn’t have our full strength side and we had so much bad luck with injuries.

“Losing it the way we did gives us a bit of fire in our belly to try and do it this year and show where the trophy belongs.

“That’s my aim. I love racing at this club and every trophy we win is a big thing for me, so I want to make sure it’s another good year.”

Wolves hand a debut to new signing Cameron Heeps and there’s a welcome return to the club for local boy Ashley Morris.

Swindon youngster Zach Wajktnecht was the winner of the British Under 21 semi-final at Eastbourne on Saturday and their skipper is Australian World Cup star Nick Morris.
