CAMERON Heeps seems set to miss Wolverhampton’s next two meetings after suffering concussion while riding for Championship club Ipswich on Thursday.

The Australian was running second when clipped from behind by Lasse Bjerre in heat three of the Witches’ 52-38 defeat at Sheffield.

The high-impact crash burst the air fence and Heeps spent a lengthy period with medics having been transported from the track via ambulance as a precaution. He played no further part.

British speedway rules state a rider must miss nine days if signed off with concussion, meaning the Parrys International Wolves seem set to be without the Australian for Monday’s home clash with Somerset and the trip to Poole on Wednesday (both 7.30).

Ipswich team manager Ritchie Hawkins confirmed the diagnosis and said: "It will be a period of rest for Cam but he is fine.

"He had a big bang which was no surprise because it was a big crash. Hopefully he can recover quickly."
