WOLVERHAMPTON have been handed a major boost ahead of their Bank Holiday Monday double date with Belle Vue.

Parrys International Wolves skipper Rory Schlein, who missed this week’s racing, has told the club he will be back for the trip to Manchester at midday and the return at Monmore that night (8pm).

Schlein has suffered a knee injury but will race with strapping and fight through the pain barrier.

Club co-promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “This is a nice boost for us after the defeats at King’s Lynn and we needed it.

“There is a little ligament damage in Rory’s knee but he will have it strapped up and will be racing for us on Monday which is great news.

“It’s an important day and Belle Vue know they are edging closer to the play-offs – it’s up to us to put a spanner in the works!

“They are sure to be two tremendous meetings and I’m sure there will be lots of interest in both. We’re looking forward to it.”
