BELLE VUE 52 WOLVES 38

Monday August 27, 2018
WOLVERHAMPTON return to Monmore Green tonight (Monday 8pm) looking to get back to winning ways against Belle Vue.

The Parrys International Wolves lost 52-38 in the midday fixture between the two sides at the National Speedway Stadium in a scoreline that flattered the men from Manchester.

Wolves led by two points with nine races gone, but the hosts registered five 5-1 maximums in the final six races to send the Midlanders back home with nothing to show for their efforts.

Team Manager Peter Adams said: "I'm disappointed to not get at least a point considering we were ahead after nine heats.

"But as the track settled down and got drier, it suited them more and that showed.

"They prefer a slicker track and that was summed up with the way they finished the meeting with so many 5-1s.

"We have to regroup for the home meeting later tonight though and we have to do what they've done to us - win and make sure they leave with nothing."

Gates open at 7pm with junior races getting underway at 7.15.

There are also plenty of additional attractions for supporters to enjoy throughout the night including a hockey shootout and a bouncy castle for kids.

Admission is £18 adults, £13 concessions (students / senior citizens over 60 / registered disabled), £7 juniors (age 13-18 inc.) while under 13s go FREE.
