WOLVERHAMPTON skipper Rory Schlein has been ruled out of racing for the foreseeable future after his horror crash on Monday.

Schlein was taken to hospital as a precaution after taking a bang to the head in the opening heat of the thriller with Belle Vue.

And Parrys International Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: "Realistically I think we'll be struggling to see him again this season.

"It was a nasty crash but we're just relieved there is nothing too serious and long term although of course he was already carrying a knee injury!

"He'll be feeling like he's been run over by elephants and needs to rest up. He's automatically signed off for nine days under the rules but for how much longer after that we'll have to wait and see."

Kyle Howarth has suffered a hand injury and is set for a visit to hospital for a second opinion.
