WOLVERHAMPTON are throwing a party at their end of season meeting on Monday October 15 – and it’s all for a great cause.

The club are staging the NGK Spark Plugs Olympique individual meeting which includes the unique handicap system with riders starting behind the grid after scoring points in their previous race.

And club bosses have also confirmed there will be a rider farewell party in the lower bar immediately after the firework display with admission available by making a £2 donation to cancer research and collecting a wristband.

In addition, NGK Spark Plugs are proud owners of one of American icon Greg Hancock’s World Championship bikes which will be on display.

And fans can test their starting skills as the bike will have the ‘beat the starter’ device fitted.

Parrys International Wolves chief Chris Van Straaten said: “It’s a great opportunity for fans to see if they can start as fast as Greg. He’s famous for his starts, of course!

“We have also made the decision to do the rider farewells after the meeting rather than having a more formal end of season function but we are already planning towards a gala launch for 2019.”

The club are also hosting their pre-AGM talk-in with Van Straaten and team manager Peter Adams at the Cleveland Arms Sports Pub in Wolverhampton on Monday October 22.
