WOLVERHAMPTON warmed up for their Premiership campaign in ruthless style.
Parrys International Wolves eased past Championship outfit Edinburgh 55-35 in Scotland to take the Red Box Property Challenge Trophy.
They were inspired by captain Rory Schlein who roared to a 15-point maximum whilst No.1 Sam Masters dropped just two points against the club he enjoyed plenty of success with earlier this decade.
Kyle Howarth also managed double figures while regular reserve duo Luke Becker and Ashley Morris were able to take plenty of positives from their six-point apiece contributions.
Popular youngster Nathan Greaves also produced a steady display as he was given a run-out by club bosses.
Wolves were in control right from the off, leading by eight points with just three races gone; and they were relentless thereafter limiting the hosts to just two heat advantages.
That performance came just 24-hours after an encouraging showing in a narrow defeat at Peterborough in the Premiership Supporters' Cup.
And local lad Ashley Morris says confidence is high ahead of Monday night's league opener against Swindon at Monmore (7.30).
"There's a good feel around Wolves again already this year and we're looking forward to what's to come," he said.
"At Edinburgh it was good to get some more laps in as a team and we were all able to try a few different things with the bikes and there were plenty of positives we could take.
"We all enjoyed it which was the main thing because the serious stuff comes around now.
"We know Swindon will be a tough one on Monday but we're feeling good as a team, confidence is high between us all and we want to get off to a winning start."
