WOLVES 38 BELLE VUE 52

Monday May 27, 2019
WOLVERHAMPTON'S unbeaten home start came to an end as they suffered a 52-38 loss at the hands of Belle Vue.

It completed a double Bank Holiday Monday defeat against the Aces who also won 54-36 in Manchester earlier in the day.
Parrys International Wolves finished strongly with a trio of 4-2s in the final four races at Monmore - but sadly the damage had already been done after Belle Vue charged into a 14-point lead by Heat Eight.
Skipper Rory Schlein produced another double figure display while No.1 Sam Maters rounded off his night with back-to-back race wins - denying Aces captain Max Fricke a maximum in the process.
Jacob Thorssell rounded off his night with a race win on his first appearance at Monmore since last September following a hand injury and Kyle Howarth had a steady evening with three second places on his card.
Ashley Morris won one of his three rides with fellow reserve Luke Becker enduring one of his tougher nights in his debut season in British Speedway.
Nick Morris' first appearance in front of his new fans following a recent wrist injury didn't go to plan but Peter Adams' men have vowed to bounce back.
Returning star Jacob Thorssell said: "We can only apologise to the fans who came to support us tonight because we know that's not good enough.
"We struggled all night and I guess in the end we were just beaten by the better team on the night.
"It felt great to be back at Wolverhampton though - it's just a shame we couldn't get the win as a team in my first one back.
"We'll take a lot from this tonight though and we'll be back because we've got a strong team."
Wolves travel to King's Lynn in the Premiership next Monday(June 3, 7.30).
