WOLVES DUO TO RACE IN BONANZA

Thursday January 23, 2020
WOLVERHAMPTON duo Jacob Thorssell and Nick Morris will line-up in the season opener at Scunthorpe for the Ben Fund Bonanza.

The Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund Charity meeting will be the only meeting of the day on Saturday, March 14 (2pm) - providing a maximum opportunity to raise as much money as possible for injured and disabled riders.

Morris, who will also double-up with Championship winners Leicester, ran out victorious in 2015 and will be hoping for more of the same at the Eddie Wright Raceway in this year’s staging.

Swedish Champion Thorssell will start as one of the favourites for the event - with home hero Josh Auty the third rider to be announced at this stage.

Morris said: “I’m looking forward to riding in the Ben Fund meeting. It’s a great meeting to start the season and a great way to raise money for the injured riders.

“I haven’t spent too much time on the bike back home so it will be good to get on a bike again and prepare for what will be another busy season for me.

“Things didn’t work out for me that well last season after playing catch up following the wrist injury.

“I’m going to be using the Ben Fund meeting to test a few things on the bikes. Practicing on your own is good but there’s nothing like a competitive meeting to see where you are in terms of preparation.”

Parrys International Wolves have this morning released their fixtures for the forthcoming 2020 season.
