PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v WOLVES

Wednesday May 17, 2023
WOLVERHAMPTON head to Belle Vue on Thursday (May 18, 7.30) with a chance to book their place in the Sports Insure Premiership Knockout Cup Semi-Finals.

The Parrys International Wolves hold a 26-point lead following last month’s first leg at Monmore Green.

Wolves have a solid record at the National Speedway Stadium in recent times and while racer Ryan Douglas hopes that will stand them in good stead, he also knows his side have still got a job to do.

“We have got a nice lead - but we can’t take it for granted,” Douglas said.

“Belle Vue have pumped teams by 30 points or so a few times at home.

“So we’re going to have to be on our game and turn up like we would any other meeting, trying to get the win on the night.

“If we all do our jobs then I don’t see why we won’t make it through.”

Wolves bring in Aussie Justin Sedgmen as a guest for the injured Luke Becker while former British Youth Champion, Kyle Bickley, who also previously rode for Belle Vue’s development league side, guests at reserve in place of Leon Flint who is competing on the continent in the FIM European Under-23 Team Semi-Final.

BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Tom Brennan R/R, Jaimon Lidsey, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Keynan Rew, Jake Mulford.
PARRYS INTERNATIONAL WOLVES: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Justin Sedgmen, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Zach Cook, Kyle Bickley.
