SAM'S BIG DAY

Saturday March 17, 2007
WOLVERHAMPTON Speedway stages one of its biggest-ever events on Sunday as Sam Ermolenko brings the curtain down on his racing career.

'Sudden Sam's Flaming Farewell' is expected to attract a huge crowd to Monmore Green with a World-class line-up competing on track and the Wolves legend saying his farewells and promising a spectacular exit.

As well as current World Champion Jason Crump and former winners Ermolenko, Greg Hancock and Billy Hamill, the appearance of Bruce Penhall (World Champion in 1981 and 1982) has also attracted major interest.

Racing starts at 4pm but supporters are reminded that the gates open at midday and there is a full programme of events planned throughout the afternoon, including live bands, fashion shows and super-moto demos. In addition there will be a major after-show party.

Admission prices are £15 adults, £10 for concessions and OAPs, and £5 for children.
