SKIPPER TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON + NEW HOTLINE NUMBER
Thursday 25 February 2010
WOLVERHAMPTON will wait until the week before the tapes rise on an exciting new Speedway season before announcing their new skipper.

Club boss Chris Van Straaten has confirmed the new man will be either Freddie Lindgren - the top rider in the 2009 Elite League - or new Grand Prix star Tai Woffinden.

A new appointment must be made after Peter Karlsson's enforced move out of Monmore due to the points limit which governs team strengths. The popular Swede will now ride for Belle Vue.

Said Van Straaten: "We get together on March 9 for our public press and practice session and Peter Adams (Team Manager) will talk to Freddie and Tai then.

"We will then make a decision before our opening meeting with Coventry on Monday, March 15."

Meanwhile the club have announced details of their new telephone information service.

By dialling 09066 555 925 fans can get raceday weather information as well as live reports from Parrys International Wolves meetings and breaking news. Calls cost 60p per minute.
