WOLVERHAMPTON are in the driving seat for a place in the Knockout Cup quarter-finals after a superb 46-43 win at Ipswich.

Danish youngster Nicolai Klindt gave one of his best performances in the main body of the team with 11-points and had good support from skipper Tai Woffinden on 10 and Freddie Lindgren on the same score.

A good crowd enjoyed the early action at the reshaped Foxhall Stadium track with an even contest taking shape.

But Parrys International Wolves secured two successive maximum 5-1s to go 27-21 ahead "“ only for Ipswich to bounce back and level two races later.

The meeting was decided with some determined Wolves riding late on "“ and even though the night ended on a bitter note for Klindt with a hard ride in Heat 15 it was Wolves who had the last word with a win ahead of next Monday's second leg at Monmore
